GOE Sponsors Free Training on the Principles of a Healthy Home

CARSON CITY, NV - May 09, 2016

GOE is co-sponsoring a free training class on the principles of a healthy home on May 24 at the Builders Association of Northern Nevada (BANN). The training class is from 4 - 7 p.m. Space is limited.

This training will provide attendees a better understanding of the key components to keeping a home healthy and energy efficient. Also being discussed are changes to the implementation of 2012 International Energy Conservation Codes testing for indoor air quality.

The IECC was adopted July 1, 2015 by the State of Nevada to ensure design and construction requirements for energy efficiency and building. The new building energy codes affect architects, contractors, engineers, home builders and homeowners.

The class instructor is Mark Lera, President/CEO of Distinctively Green Energy and a certified professor for the Building Performance Institute. Lera has been a trainer for more than 30 years. During the past 17 years he has worked in the energy efficiency industry as a training consultant for companies wanting to familiarize themselves on new building codes.

The training is also sponsored by NV Energy, Southwest Gas, BANN, and Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP). If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Tom Polikalas of SWEEP (775) 386-7411, tpolikalas@swenergy.org.
