UNR Graduate Renewable Energy Certificate Program

The University of Nevada (UNR) Graduate Renewable Energy Certificate program is designed for professionals in the energy industry, including administrators, engineers, and others impacted by new policies and practices relating to renewable energy. The multidisciplinary program covers energy technologies, energy markets and business, and energy policy:

ENGR 620 Renewable Energy in the Local Community & Home
ENGR 630 Wind Energy
ENGR 650 Solar and Renewable Energy Utilization

ENGR 670 Geology of Geothermal Energy Resources
CEE 611/PSC 603/NRES 612 Environmental Law

These courses are taught by instructors from several engineering disciplines as well as UNR's Colleges of Science and Liberal Arts. Instructors are experts in their respective fields at Nevada and other research institutions. The program is designed for students who hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, management or a related field.

Technical Assistance for Potential CHP Projects in Nevada

The U.S. DOE Pacific Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Technical Assistance Partnership helps businesses and communities in Nevada reduce their energy costs, improve efficiency, and strengthen their energy resiliency and reliability through the use of combined heat and power. The U.S DOE Pacific CHP Technical Assistance Partnership is one of seven regional CHP TAPs formed by the U.S. Department of Energy to promote and assist in transforming the market for CHP throughout the United States, and is the regional TAP for California, Nevada and Hawaii.
