GOE Director Bobzien elected to chair Western Interstate Energy Board

Carson City, Nev. - May 25, 2021

During its annual meeting last week, the Western Interstate Energy Board (WIEB) elected David Bobzien, Governor’s Office of Energy (GOE) Director, as chair of the WEIB Board of Directors.

“Nevada is at the geographical center of the West, which makes us a keystone piece in the future of the western electrical grid,” Director Bobzien said. “I am honored to serve as the incoming chair of the Western Interstate Energy Board, and I look forward to continued collaboration with my colleagues throughout the West.”

WEIB consists of 11 western states and two western Canadian provinces and provides the framework for cooperative state efforts to improve the economy and quality of live in the West by promoting energy policy developed cooperatively among members states and provinces and with the federal government.
