Current Activity: GOE Prepares for Public Meeting

The Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy (GOE) is currently planning for a public meeting to gather information and feedback to inform the program design to improve the resilience of the electric grid against disruptive events.     Background

    Under the 2022 federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) section 40101(d), the federal Department of Energy (DOE) will provide formula-fund grants to states and tribes to improve the resilience of their electric grids. States and tribes can allocate funds to eligible entities. This funding offers the opportunity to advance the capabilities of states and tribes, and their communities, to address present and future resilience needs.

    Nevada has been awarded $10,543,609.

      Timeline of Activities Completed

      09/14/2023   GOE closed the Request for Information (RFI).
      08/16/2023   GOE released an RFI on best practices for program design.
      06/16/2023          GOE received notification of award from DOE.
      12/21/2022   GOE submitted application for funding to DOE.

        Tentative Timeline of Upcoming Activities

        Late September 2023      GOE will hold a public meeting to gather information and feedback.
        Early Winter 2023   GOE's sub-award program opens for applications.
